Timber Baron Contracting (2013) Ltd. owned and operated multiple log sort yards throughout Northwest British Columbia, including facilities in Stewart, Prince Rupert, Haida Gwaii, and Terrace. These strategically located sort yards supported efficient log merchandising, sorting, storage, and export preparation across a broad operating area.
Timber Baron was the first company in Northwest British Columbia to load sea containers for raw log export to international markets, including Japan, South Korea, and China. Over the course of operations, TBC successfully loaded and exported more than 10,000 sea containers of raw logs to Asian markets, demonstrating advanced logistics coordination, quality control, and export compliance.
TBC was also the first company in the region to deploy a portable log debarker to achieve a phytosanitary certificate from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), enabling approval for raw log exports to China. This capability ensured compliance with international phytosanitary requirements and positioned Timber Baron as a regional leader in export-ready forestry solutions.
To support containerized log exports, Timber Baron owned and operated a fleet of 12- to 40-foot container chassis and highway tractors, providing end-to-end container transportation services. This included the delivery and return of loaded containers to Maher Terminals in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, ensuring reliable, controlled logistics from sort yard to port.
