Timber Baron completed 35 km of Right-of-Way clearing on the Northwest Transmission Line, delivering a comprehensive scope of work across a challenging section of the project. Our responsibilities included all road access upgrades, construction of approximately 20 km of new road, full grubbing and clearing, and complete timber operations—falling, forwarding, processing, loading, and hauling. Additional scope included trail access development, access mat installation, air curtain burning, open burning, and full waste wood management.

Timber Baron also managed merchantable timber handling for the entire 115 km Nisga’a section, including the setup and operation of a log sort yard to process approximately 40,000 m³ of merchantable timber. This integrated approach ensured efficient material handling, minimized delays, and supported overall project productivity.

The project involved close collaboration with Nass Area Enterprises Ltd., a subsidiary of the Nisga'a Lisims Government, on behalf of BC Hydro. The transmission line extends approximately 344 km from Terrace to Bob Quinn Lake.

A portion of Timber Baron’s work was completed in close proximity to the community of New Aiyansh and its municipal watershed. To address environmental sensitivities and air quality concerns, air curtain burners were utilized throughout the 7 km section, allowing continuous, low-emission operations while maintaining strict environmental compliance.

Through strong partnerships, experienced crews, and vertically integrated capabilities, Timber Baron delivered safe, efficient execution in challenging terrain—meeting demanding schedules while adhering to environmental and regulatory requirements.
